Dear Anxious Person, Take Your Focus Off Of You

Dear Anxious Person,
Take your focus off of you
The purpose you have to fulfill in this life is not about you, but about the purpose that God is fulfilling through you. When you shift your focus from your purpose to yourself, your true purpose in life takes a backseat. All of your situations, worries, anxieties, family issues, relationship issues, problems on the job…EVERYTHING takes priority over God. I’ve definitely been guilty of this on many occasions. There have been many times when I have gotten so consumed with life, and making sure everything gets done. I have taken on unnecessary tasks, and created expectations for myself in all aspects of my life that are not even realistic. In these moments it helps to just take a step back. Take a moment, and just think on the goodness of the Lord and how all powerful He is. I think of how great and mighty He is, dwell on the fact that I can trust Him, and remember that He always has my back. When I dwell on the solid truth that He has never lead me wrong in any aspect of my life, there is this wave of calm that comes over me. It’s a wave of peace that crashes into me and draws out any ounce of doubt. I am left with the conviction in my heart that everything is going to be just fine. If you allow Jesus to be the center of your life, and take priority in your life, then everything else seems to fall into place. Your head can be swimming in life’s worries, but if you take a step back, take a moment, and spend time with God, then everything else just seems to disappear. Somehow you gain this clarity about everything. The things that once worried you no longer worry you. Allow God to take priority. Allow Him to flood your thoughts with His word, His wisdom, His way of doing things. When you place Him at the center of your life everything shifts into place. He will give you the answer to all things. He will guide you, lead you, and if you listen, if you obey, you will begin to see the wisdom in what HE tells you to do. Remember that your life is not your own. Remembering that puts things into perspective. Focus on your purpose, and if you don’t know what it is yet, ask God to reveal it to you.
You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
Isaiah 26:3
