I am happy.
I am secure.
I am confident.
Being happy is not about your circumstance. It’s about the mindset you choose to have in the circumstance. Everything around you can be chaotic, but as long as you have unwaivering faith that everything will be okay you can live a life of peace. If you choose to wait until everything in life is perfect in order to be happy, you will never be satisfied. The truth is: there’s always going to be something to complain about. There’s always going to be a rude coworker, a bill that needs to be paid, someone who betrays you, and so much work that needs to get done that it’ll make your head spin. The trick is to purposefully choose to focus on what’s going right. Be grateful for what you do have. So whatever may happen in life (good or bad), you can have happiness (Joy) in every season.

Just last year I was riddled with anxiety, and it began to spiral out of control. Every day was a struggle. The smallest things would trigger me, hours would be lost ruminating on the mentally debilitating thoughts. I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, had just given birth to my second child, my relationships were suffering, and I felt like I was not moving forward in life.
I decided to forego the medications, and began to seek God like never before. As I began to seek the Lord I realized that there were certain shifts in perspective that were key to overcoming the mentally crippling thoughts. All of this was just under a year ago. Today, I am discovering who I am, and loving it. I am full of faith, and thankful for it. I am resilient, continuously building confidence, and successfully tackling anxiety as it arises. Read and comment to find out more about how I’ve found success in my journey. Email me at thetranquilthought@gmail.com for questions, and if you see something that can help a friend share!
