A (Not So) Common Key to Breaking the Cycle of Anxiety

Many people dealing with anxiety are likely to spend a lot of time on the defense. There is a tendency to spend most of your energy combating thoughts and feelings as they arise. What if you take the offense? What if when anxious thoughts creep in you begin to recover more quickly because you remember who you truly are. If you are in Christ you are a new creation.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Trade who you once were for who Christ desires for you to be. Trade the anxiety ridden mind for peace. Trade the negative emotions for feelings of love and joy. If make the decision to allow Christ into your life, and commit to habitually turning the scriptures into actions you will see the new. Slowly but surely you will begin to see your life transform. You will see this transformation as you build your faith in Christ. As you start to believe in Him more and more, commit to actually putting what you read into action. As you practice self-control, as you choose to be kind to the person who has wronged you, as you choose to speak blessings instead of curses, you will begin to see the newness that has entered into your life.

Commit to being in His presence. Spend time with Him by discovering what blessings are promised to you in the word, and how He wisely instructs you to live your lives. Then you will see that the things you once worried about have no power over you because of who you are, and what has been promised to you. You will discover that you have the power to do what only Christ can do, which includes having dominion over any stress and worries.

Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

John 14:12-14

What do you need? Do you need to be free of those anxious thoughts? Do you need a peace that surpasses all understanding?

The secret is in your belief. Belief leads to action. Acting on the word leads to a sound mind, and a prosperous life.

Putting the word into action is the expression of your belief. The expression of your belief is where you experience the newness in your life. In your belief is where you enter into a place where you can ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you according to your faith.
